How to add co-browsing to your website

By the BrowseWithMe team · Updated 25 September 2026

Short answer

Add a small script to your website, give your agents a login, and you are ready. When a customer needs help, the agent gives them a 7-digit PIN, the customer types it in, and the session starts. Most teams are live the same day.

Step 1: Add the script to your site

Paste one line of code into your website, on every page where customers may need help. If you use a website builder or tag manager, add it there. Co-browsing only works on pages that have the script, so the agent never sees anything else.

Step 2: Invite your agents

Each agent gets a login to the dashboard. That is where they start sessions and see the customer’s page. With BrowseWithMe you pay $5 per agent per month, so add only the people who talk to customers.

Step 3: Decide on recording

Recording is useful for training, but it stores customer data. Turn it on only if you need it, and tell customers. See our GDPR checklist.

Step 4: Run a test session

Open your website on one screen as a “customer”. On another, log in as an agent and start a session. Type the PIN, then try the pointer, drawing tools and a form fill. Five minutes of practice makes the first real call smooth.

Step 5: Tell your team when to use it

Pick the moments that cause the most calls: long forms, checkout, sign-up. Give agents a short script. We wrote one for you: co-browsing on a phone call.
